G.K. Coleman and Sons was founded in the late 1960's by George K. Coleman, Sr. and his wife Ursena and was first named Standard Realty Company. The firm originally started as a realty company and later grew to include partners of G.K. Coleman, Jr., and Jasmine Coleman Quinerly. Along with the much needed services such as appraisals and sales departments, the firm became able accommodate the growing real estate market.  Mr. Coleman was a trailblazer with the City of Houston, Highway Department, Federal Housing Administration and their respective appraisal assignments.

Mr. Coleman was instrumental in creating construction, mortgage, sales, and appraisal employment opportunities not only locally, but also on the national level.

By 1989, firm lept into the 21^st-century, obtaining “cutting-edge” software in digital photography.  The firm enjoyed notoriety for the advanced and innovative technologies in addition to quality appraisal services, diverse expertise in the real estate profession and most of all trustworthiness. 

Today the firm has become very well established in the Houston area and the company continues to be a leader in quality, high-tech appraisals with an emphasis on prompt, candor service.  The firm continues to offer appraisal services that include residential, commercial, and industrial properties and the unique specialty of church appraisals.  The organization is firmly planted in this area and looks forward to a future in which it continues to serve the community.

G.K. Coleman and Sons Appraisals and Sales continues to be and asset to the real estate profession and offers real estate consulting services, instructional and continuing education classes, and property management services which promote the ethical adherence to the profession.   

Currently the firm is one of the largest realty companies in its market to date.
